Hi! I saw your review on the Yiynova MSP19u and as someone who uses Paint Tool SAI I wanted to ask if it behaves fine? I heard it had issues with dual-monitor set ups but I was wondering if you had it working just fine either way? Thanks!
Yes, the Yiynova works perfectly fine with SAI for me and the dual-monitor set up didn’t cause any issues. Some people have said that the pen jitters a lot more on SAI than in other programs but I haven’t had that issue. I did have an unbearably jitter-y pen when I first started using it but that was because I hadn’t uninstalled my other tablet driver before installing the one for the Yiynova. Yes, you have to uninstall all other tablet drivers before installing the Yiynova, but if you’re like me and prefer to switch between tablets, you can always re-install the other drivers after the Yiynova has been properly installed. Installing other tablets after installing the Yiynova has no affect on the Yiynova. :) . One thing that has started to bother me more and more about the Yiynova, however, is its screen resolution. It really has a very low ppi for a tablet this large. After staring at it for long, my eyes start to blur or hurt. Then again, I like to draw with at least 80% of the canvas in view so it’s more of an issue. If you prefer to zoom in really close, the low res shouldn’t cause too much of a problem. . My overall recommendation to anyone who’s looking to get a Yiynova is still pretty much the same. Get it if you really need a Cintiq-esque tablet but can’t afford a Cintiq. If you do have enough for a Cintiq, definitely get the Cintiq. And, if you don’t really need a Cintiq-esque tablet but want an upgrade, just get an extra large wacom tablet.
When Twelve begins, you'll see. No other Doctor will ever replace Eleven for you but you'll grow to love Twelve. I was distraught when Chris left especially since at 8 years old I was still at that age where The Doctor could in my wildest dreams be real. But David and Matt were so brilliant that I couldn't be sad for long. So I settled for watching re runs and following the new Doctors and then I grew to love them just as much. Dry your eyes and look forward, we've still got 2 specials.
;_; Thank you for such comforting words. This is technically the first time I’m “losing” the Doctor since “The Eleventh Hour” was my first DW episode and Eleven, my first Doctor. (I didn’t watch the older episodes until I finished the River Song arc.) Eleven became a sort of childhood hero for me, even though I didn’t start watching DW until I was in college… strange, huh?
But you’re right! Chin up and have hope that my heart will be whole again.
Quoting Eleven, here’s what I’d like to say to Twelve:
There are fixed points throughout time where things must stay exactly the way they are. This is not one of them. This is an opportunity. Whatever happens here will create its own timeline, its own reality, a temporal tipping point. The future revolves around you. Here. Now. So do good!
It’s astonishing how embarrassed we are as a society to allow girls to have fantasies.
I get asked this question a lot: “Why do you draw pretty boys?”
Nobody is asking the boys making comic books why they draw boobs.
So I totally just stalked an old friend’s tumblr to find this post, that’s how badly I needed to signal boost this.
Thank god someone finally called out this double standard!
I’ve had to deal with this ever since I started fan-arting in middle school, and this pervasive, twisted, sexist ideology was what caused me to hide my fanart from friends all through middle school and high school. It wasn’t until college, that I just said, “Fuck this! If guys can draw frisky girls with triple D boobs, I should be able to draw a simple picture of two guys sharing a sweet kiss.”
There is such a stigma against girls drawing homoerotic fanart, nude guys, sexy guys, etc. but when guys draw exaggerated curves on a girl or even girl on girl, people just grin and wink and say that it’s hot.
We should all be allowed to draw whatever the hell we want because that’s what art is, dammit! It’s a way to express ourselves and put our thoughts, stories, and yes, even fantasies onto paper.
So I magically got an influx of followers last night, and today, I came home to several dozen sweet messages in my ask box <3
I love you all! Thank you for making my day :)
(Also, just an fyi, I try to answer any and all questions that come my way but if you’re on anon, I can’t really answer without spamming everyone with a q+a post… lol. So yus, if you have questions you want answered, don’t be afraid to ask them off anon. I won’t bite! Promise.)

In other news, my new tablet arrived!
It’s a Yiynova MSP19U (mouthful, I know). It’s basically a Cintiq alternative for about 1/4 the price.
There are pros… and there are cons…
I’ve only had this for a few hours though so these are just my first impressions. Click the “read more” cut if you’re curious:
